Christmas Light Installation in Highland Park, IL
Christmas lighting and permanent roofline lighting in Highland Park, engineered for bluff exposure, ravine lots and the Prairie School rooflines around Ravinia.
The Unique Charm of Highland Park
Highland Park has the most difficult terrain of any town we light. A hundred foot bluff runs along six miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, wooded ravines cut as much as a mile inland, and elevations swing between 580 and 725 feet. That is not scenery to us, it is access planning. Four Union Pacific North stations serve the city, Braeside, Ravinia Park, Ravinia and Highland Park, and the Ravinia district still carries the character of the artists' colony it began as, anchored by the Ravinia Festival and its 3,200 seat pavilion, home to the Chicago Symphony since 1936. Frank Lloyd Wright's Willits House is here, along with work by John S. Van Bergen, Shaw and Adler. We love contributing to the local character of Highland Park with our beautiful lighting designs, whether seasonal or permanent.
Our Services in Highland Park
From magical Christmas displays to permanent architectural lighting, we have professional solutions for every property and every season.
Residential Holiday Lighting
Ravine and bluff lots mean the ground under the ladder is often lower than the ground the house sits on. We stage from stable footing, use standoffs where a ladder cannot be footed safely, and specify attachment rated for wind coming straight off the lake. Design, install, mid season maintenance, takedown and storage included.
Commercial Holiday Lighting
The downtown shopping district and the blocks near the Ravinia and Highland Park stations get their evening traffic in exactly the weeks holiday lighting is up. Clean architectural lighting on a storefront does more for a December evening than any window cling.
Bluff exposure and ravine footing
Two local conditions drive how we build here. First, wind. A house on or near the bluff takes lake wind with nothing in front of it, so clip density goes up, strands get secured at shorter intervals, and we avoid runs that can whip against a soffit all season. Second, footing. On ravine lots the grade can fall away sharply within a few feet of the wall, which rules out a straightforward ladder set. We survey the approach before quoting so install day does not turn into a conversation about what we cannot safely reach.
Prairie rooflines, and the price
Wright's Willits House is here for a reason: this is Prairie School country, and low pitched roofs with deep overhangs need the bulb line tucked under the fascia rather than outlining a peak that barely exists. Seasonal lighting starts at $799 and up, depending on the complexity, height and access of the job. Highland Park quotes move on access far more than on square footage, so a modest house on a ravine can price above a larger one on flat ground.

He not only did a meticulous job of cleaning my gutters and roof, including pine needles, but identified a problem that needed, addressing with my chimney. I will gladly use this service again.
