Christmas Light Installation in Kildeer, IL
Custom Christmas lighting and app controlled permanent roofline lighting for Kildeer, designed for two acre homesites where the house sits well back from the road and has to read from it.
The Unique Charm of Kildeer
Kildeer incorporated in March 1958 as the 32nd municipality in Lake County, with 153 residents. It now holds about 4,091 people across 4.4 square miles, and the way it was platted is the whole story of how it lights. The earliest subdivisions set the pattern: Boschome Farms was approved in 1955 on mostly two acre homesites, and Long Grove Valley followed across three units through 1957, with Beacon Hill and the 475 acre Farmington tract after them. Kemper Lakes, out in Ela Township, hosted the 1989 PGA Championship and the 2018 Women's PGA Championship. Between Rand Road, Quentin Road and the Cuba Road corridor the lots stay large, the driveways stay long, and a lighting plan has to be designed for viewing distance rather than for the front walk. We love contributing to the local character of Kildeer with our beautiful lighting designs, whether seasonal or permanent.
Our Services in Kildeer
From magical Christmas displays to permanent architectural lighting, we have professional solutions for every property and every season.
Residential Holiday Lighting
A two acre lot changes the design before it changes the price. At 150 feet from the road, C9 bulbs on wide spacing read as a continuous line while smaller mini lights disappear entirely, so we scale the bulb and the spacing to the actual setback rather than to the square footage. Every residential package is all inclusive: custom design, install, mid season maintenance, takedown and storage.
Commercial Holiday Lighting
Kildeer's commercial frontage sits along Rand Road and the Quentin Road corridor, where traffic moves at highway speed. Lighting that reads at 45 miles per hour is a different specification from lighting a walkable downtown, and we design for the pass by rather than the stroll.
Long driveways, and where the power actually is
The practical constraint on a two acre homesite is rarely the roofline. It is the distance from the nearest exterior outlet to the far gable, and whether there is a switched circuit at the garage. On the Boschome Farms and Long Grove Valley lots we plan the run before install day: which elevations share a circuit, where a timer lives so nobody walks a 200 foot driveway in January to turn lights off, and how to reach a detached garage or coach house without a cord crossing the drive. Everything runs on a timer set to your hours.
What a Kildeer install costs
Seasonal lighting for an average house starts at $799 and up, depending on the complexity, height and access of the job. Kildeer sits above that starting number more often than not, and the reason is setback rather than luxury. A house 150 feet off Quentin Road needs C9 bulbs rather than minis to register at all, and the low spreading rooflines common on the two acre plats eat linear footage quickly. We quote the whole job after we walk the roofline, never off a rate card or a square footage table.
