Oak Brook incorporated in 1958 under Paul Butler, on land originally known as Fullersburg after the early settler Ben Fuller. About 8,163 people live here, but the daytime population is a multiple of that, because the village holds one of the densest concentrations of corporate headquarters in Illinois: Ace Hardware, Portillo's, TreeHouse Foods, Federal Signal, Blistex, CenterPoint Properties and Lions Clubs International all sit inside village limits, and McDonald's ran its headquarters here from 1971 until 2018.
