Christmas Light Installation in Western Springs, IL
Custom Christmas lighting and permanent roofline lighting for Western Springs, through the blocks around the 112 foot stone water tower and the BNSF platform.
The Unique Charm of Western Springs
Western Springs incorporated in 1886 on a public vote of 34 to 25, and took its name from mineral springs on the southwest side of town. Its landmark is unmistakable: a water tower built around 1890 out of Naperville stone, 112 feet high, which became a museum in 1970 and entered the National Register in 1981. About 13,629 people live across roughly 2.78 square miles, bounded by Willow Springs Road, Ogden Avenue, Interstate 294 and Plainfield Road, some 15 miles west of downtown Chicago. Wolf Road is the main north to south street and Ogden Avenue runs the northern edge. Metra's BNSF line runs through with a station rebuilt in 2004 and 2005, and the village keeps eleven parks including Spring Rock Park, dating to 1931. We love contributing to the local character of Western Springs with our beautiful lighting designs, whether seasonal or permanent.
Our Services in Western Springs
From magical Christmas displays to permanent architectural lighting, we have professional solutions for every property and every season.
Residential Holiday Lighting
Western Springs is a walking village of closely spaced houses, so installs are compared to the ones next door whether anyone intends that or not. Even spacing, matched bulb temperature and a line that stays straight through a thaw matter more here than scale does. Runs are cut to each roof facet rather than pulled from standard lengths. Every residential package is all inclusive: custom design, install, mid season maintenance, takedown and storage.
Commercial Holiday Lighting
The business district sits by the station, and in December its customers walk past in the dark on the way home. Outlining a storefront's top edge gives the block a continuous line, which is what registers on a walk that takes ninety seconds.
A stone tower sets the scale for the whole village
Most towns have a landmark somewhere. Western Springs has one 112 feet of Naperville stone tall, in the middle of everything, and it quietly sets the visual scale for the blocks around it. Lighting that competes with it looks loud, and lighting that ignores it looks thin. In practice that pushes us toward warm tones and clean architectural lines on the streets nearest the tower and the station, rather than color washes or heavy accent work that would read as out of place against nineteenth century stone.
What a Western Springs install costs
Seasonal lighting for an average house starts at $799 and up, depending on the complexity, height and access of the job. Much of the village sits close to it, since the lots are moderate and the rooflines conventional. It moves up for the older houses near the tower and the station, where porches, dormers and cut trim mean measuring and cutting each run rather than hanging a standard length. We quote the whole job after we walk the roofline, never off a rate card or a square footage table.

Hanging Lights Club did an absolutely great job installing our new permanent lights. We had previously used them for our Christmas lights. After such a great experience, we decided to switch with permanent lighting. They are honest, professional and thorough with their work. It’s rare these days to find a company that you could trust and they exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend them!

They did a spectacular job installing our Christmas lights last year. I noticed that they were very detailed and careful when installing each light which resulted into having no issues at all after the installation. So thankful for them for making our place look so festive. Thank you and can’t wait to book your services again this year!
