Christmas Light Installation in St. Charles, IL
Custom Christmas lighting and permanent roofline lighting for St. Charles, on both banks of the Fox River and through the blocks around the Hotel Baker.
The Unique Charm of St. Charles
St. Charles was founded in 1834 as Charleston, incorporated under its present name on 9 February 1839 and reincorporated in 1874. About 33,081 people live here now, on both sides of the Fox River, which runs straight through the middle of downtown rather than around it. That river is the organising fact of the town: the Municipal Center sits beside it, Pottawatomie Park is the largest park in the city and fronts it, and the Hotel Baker, opened in 1928, still stands on its bank as the landmark everything else is described in relation to. The Arcada Theatre anchors the downtown blocks. Routes 64, 38, 25 and 31 carry traffic through, along with Randall Road and Kirk Road, and there is no Metra station. We love contributing to the local character of St. Charles with our beautiful lighting designs, whether seasonal or permanent.
Our Services in St. Charles
From magical Christmas displays to permanent architectural lighting, we have professional solutions for every property and every season.
Residential Holiday Lighting
St. Charles holds a genuine spread of eras, from 19th century houses near the river to newer subdivisions out toward Randall Road, so the method changes by neighbourhood. Older homes get runs cut to each gable, dormer and porch face with clips sized to existing trim. Newer builds get even spacing across a long unbroken line. Every residential package is all inclusive: custom design, install, mid season maintenance, takedown and storage.
Commercial Holiday Lighting
Downtown St. Charles faces the river from both banks, which means half your audience is looking at your building from across open water with nothing in the way. A defined roof edge holds that distance where interior window displays disappear.
A river through the middle changes the sight lines
Most downtowns are seen from the sidewalk in front of them. St. Charles is seen from the opposite bank, from the Route 64 bridge, and from the paths through Pottawatomie Park, which means buildings here have a long uninterrupted viewing distance that suburban storefronts never get. Water also reflects, so a well lit elevation doubles and a patchy one doubles too. For riverfront buildings we design the elevation as a single composition read from across the water first, and treat the sidewalk detail as secondary rather than the other way round.
What a St. Charles install costs
Seasonal lighting for an average house starts at $799 and up, depending on the complexity, height and access of the job. The newer subdivisions west toward Randall Road generally sit at that number, with straightforward rooflines and moderate frontages. The older houses near the river run higher, because porches, dormers and bay windows add footage and every run has to be cut to fit. We quote the whole job after we walk the roofline, never off a rate card or a square footage table.
